Quebec City, Canada

The drive from Montreal back to Colby is just under 5 hours and the side-trip to Quebec City is only an hour out of the way, so we took a short detour through Quebec City.


The extra-hour pit stop was definitely worth it. Quebec City is a great walking city with a lot of beautiful French-European architecture and culture. We walked around Old Quebec and explored the La Citadelle de Quebec,Château Frontenac, Quartier Petit Champlain, Cathedral-Basilica of Notre-Dame de Québec. We walked along the Terrasse Dufferin, a terrace that wraps around the Château Frontenac in Quebec City towards Citadelle of Quebec, overlooking the St. Lawrence River. French was a lot more present here than it was in Montreal and we heard significantly less English.
