Whistler and Mammoth

To kick off the New Year, I had two exciting ski-trips planned in January and February of 2020. The first trip was a big and one that I had been planning for a while. For three ski seasons now, I have renewed my EpicPass membership but only really ever used it to ski the resorts at Tahoe. My friend Canyon Law and I decided to pick one of the resorts off the pass list and make an epic trip out of it. Not surprisingly we chose Whistler-Blackcomb up in British Colombia, Canada. I took a day off from work and enjoyed three full days of skiing and enjoyed the food and nightlife in the lively village.
Second was a trip to Mammoth Mountain in California. A group of friends and I stayed at a friends ski cabin in Mammoth Lakes, CA and enjoyed two full days of beautiful skiing. The skiing was really solid and because this is one of the best mountains within driving distance of both LA and SF, the evening scene was really fun. We enjoyed a nice apres ski party as well as a delicious cookout at home. These two trips were really a great kick-off to the year; but, unfortunately the remainder of 2020 would be shutdown by a global pandemic.
